Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Twitter Inc., revealed on July 23 that the social media firm would undergo a redesign that would see the iconic blue bird logo replaced with a "X" design.
The statement follows Musk's recent admission that Twitter's advertising revenue has decreased by half, causing the company to experience a negative cash flow and be burdened by significant debt.
According to Mike Prohaska, research director at Forrester, this decision could cause Twitter to stray further from its founding and previously fervently committed user base. While some could claim that it departs from the well-known brand, others view it as a sign that Twitter is starting anew and moving in a new path with a varied user base.

In a message on Sunday, Elon Musk asked his millions of followers if they were in favor of switching the site's color palette from blue to black. He added an illustration to the post that had a stylised "X" against a black background instead of the customary blue sky.
The "X" branding has now been completely embraced by Twitter's own account, and it has spread quickly elsewhere. Along with their blue checkmarks, Twitter workers are now identified by a "X" tag on their Twitter accounts. In an effort to appear more legitimate, the "X" logo has already been put up on a building as proof of the backing from tech leaders and their henchmen.
A brand-new feature in the Warcraft universe known as "Glorbo" received a lot of positive Redditors' comments. One issue remains, however: Glorbo is a myth. Their misguided enthusiasm was noticed by The Portal, a blog that "publishes potent gaming content" and frequently recycles scraped, ostensibly AI-generated content. In China, Glorbo's user base was reportedly 1.29 billion strong in 2016.

An early adopter of social media and the creator of Button Hall, Drew Benvie , made the following observation: "Musk is clearly working on completely revamping everything for the sake of owning the app space, taking old Twitter under his wing, and keeping an eye on the successes of Asian trailblazers like WeChat and Moj."
While success in a few additional services, such as payments or shopping, may be required to make X superior to Twitter, there are already a large number of alternatives, so Musk and Co. are engaged in a protracted race to catch up.
Twitter's website states that its blue bird-themed logo is their "most recognizable asset."
